Supplemental Remarks

Known for its vibe for live music, cafes, boutiques, pubs, bars, and galleries, East Village San Diego is an phenomenal place to live. It is one of San Diego’s most walkable neighborhoods. East Village San Diego is popularly known for the San Diego Padres and it’s the location for Petco Park. In fact, East Village is the biggest downtown San Diego neighborhood as it extends all the way up north to basically where the five freeway bends and up to Balboa Park. It also runs west to Sixth Avenue where the Gaslamp Quarter starts. The village also boasts a hip urban feel with a mix of 20s to 50s, and even retirees. You will find most parts of the East Village full of professionals in their 30s and 40s, as well as brand new families that haven’t yet “moved up” to buy a traditional home. But for the most part, it’s a group of friendly people who like to socialize. Also, most people tend to have a pet, whether dogs or cats. Most shops and some of the restaurants have outdoor patios, which are pretty much pet-friendly. East Village has a pretty laid-back atmosphere and you can go out to catch a baseball game or something at the local pub. There are no massive nightclubs until you go further into downtown (opening soon) and you will love Gaslamp Quarter a few blocks away. Many gastro pubs, restaurants, steak houses and wine bars with entertainment in East Village. There are many places you should check out. Whether you are a baseball fan or not, you need to visit Petco Park and San Diego Padres because it offers an amazing experience for everyone. Other places include Bub’s right across the street from M21, and next to the Ballpark, Knotty Barrel and East Village Tavern-Bowl a few steps away, Bootleggers, Punch Full Social for karaoke, Bar Basic for Pizza, and Amplified Garden & Beer Garden for live music. Too many to name here. There are loads of markets and delis in the area that are super walkable. Don’t forget that downtown San Diego is relatively small: if you need anything across the city, whether you are going over to the Marina District or you just want to hop over to Little Italy to grab dinner and bring it back home, it is so easy to get around the village.
