Lankford & Associates, Inc. in collaboration with Canyon Johnson Urban Fund Construction developed a mixed-use project on the corner of the block bounded by Park Boulevard, Eleventh Avenue, C Street, and Broadway. The development is located in the East Village District of downtown San Diego and construction began in November 2004 with a March 2007 completion.

Smart Corner consists of a 301 unit, 19-story residential tower and a 5-story office building including 93,000 sq. ft commercial space and 21,000 sq. ft retail space on the ground level. The two buildings are separated by the San Diego City College trolley station donated by Smart Corner developers which is now a part of the 'bay-to-park' pedestrian link
