CeladonArchitects Studio E Architects (Design) and MVE-Institutional, Inc. (Architect of Record) have designed a 250-apartment complex that’s located in the Core District of Downtown San Diego. Celadon at 9th and Broadway is currently being built and should be nearing its completion within 6 months. Celadon will be an affordable home apartment complex. 223 units will be available for people that make 30-60% of the local area median income. 88 properties will be for affordable homes and the Mental Health Services will fund 25 of those. The residences of the Mental Health will receive help and services to lead them to homelessness. 2 units will be for staff employees.

Affordable Housing Apartments for Rent

Celadon will be a 17-story Downtown San Diego Apartment for rent property with 2 underground parking levels. On the 15th floor, there will be a terrace that provides San Diego skyline and bay views. The ground floor will be for commercial and will have 5,775 square feet for retail on Broadway and 9th.

The estimated total cost for this project is $76 million with $2,812,150 MHSA Estimated Capital Funds. CCDC (Centre City Development Corporation), California Department of Housing and Community Development, California Housing Finance Agency and Administrator of the Mental Health Services Act Housing Program and San Diego Housing Commission is making this financially possible. MHSA is also putting an additional of $1,349,832 in operating funds.

It’s good to see an effort being made for people that might be down on their luck and to help them out.
