If it’s not one thing, it’s another. That’s what seems to happen to the San Diego Chargers when you’re talking about building a new stadium in San Diego County. Now the MTS (Metropolitan Transit System) says it may take years to move the current location of the downtown buses. This site is exactly where the proposed downtown Chargers stadium would be located; just east of Petco Park.
The CEO of MTS wrote the mayor last week and said it could take 5 to 7 years to move to a new location.
This doesn’t make things easier for San Diego keeping the Chargers. The Chargers are considering moving to Los Angeles. But for some miracle we keep the Chargers and they come downtown, downtown San Diego real estate will Boom! More condos in downtown San Diego will be built around the East Village and expand south/east. I do hope this opportunity comes for our downtown residents!!
