Water Shut of in Downtown San Diego

Marriott Marquee San DiegoI’m sure we’ve all had our water cut off from time to time.  This time, it was 2 major hotels and part of Seaport Village that lost their water.

The expansion at the Marriott Marquee is where things went wrong.  The workers broke into a 12 inch pipe that led the city to turn off the water.  Many restaurants were forced to close early and lost thousands of dollars because of this incident.

The location is in the Marina District in Downtown San Diego.  South Harbor Drive was closed for a time period while the water was coming out of the broken pipe.

Apparently these owners and the city will be reimbursed for any damages and efforts to clean the water lines once they’re back up and the clean up.  This is a good idea to remember to have insurance for your downtown San Diego condo!

Omnia – Downtown San Diego’s Newest Club

Omnia - Nightclub in San DiegoOmnia – San Diego Nighclub

454 6th ave – Gaslamp

The Old Stingaree in the Gaslamp District has now been transformed into a Vegas Style nightclub. It was about 6 months ago when the renovation first started and last night was the first night it opened. I’ve spoken with a couple people that went and they were both impressed with the new downtown venue.

The whole venue at Omnia is 22,000 square feet with 8,000 square feet on the main level and 7,000 square foot roof top patio. You want a table? There are 55 tables available throughout the club.

Let’s talk talent. Omnia will be bringing in the talent like no other club around. They already have AfroJack, Calvin Harris and Chuckie going to perform in the first couple weeks. This club is going to be the sickest San Diego has ever seen. There is an Omnia at Ceasars Palace that opened earlier in the year. It used to be the old Pure club.

Hakkasan group are the owners of Omnia and they definitely know what they’re doing with Omnia. I’m sure all other clubs around are nervous that this new club will take a lot of business away from them.
