Irvine Company Cuts Downtown San Diego Trees

irvine companyApparently the Irvine Company decided to cut a few trees down without permission along B Street at 400. I don’t know all the details but it sounds like a “miscommunication”. Hmm. These 5 carrotwood trees will be replaced and apparently was always the plan said the Irvine Company.  I’m surprised one of their expert Downtown San Diego realtors wouldn’t have told them they couldn’t cut down the trees?

Many complaints came to the city after the trees were cut down that informed the city about this incident. There weren’t any fines for this violation but the city is now looking into having a more strict policy regarding trees. I have to agree on this one myself and feel people should be fined if they cut down a tree without permission. This should stop others from cutting a tree down just because they don’t like a tree for whatever reason.

The trees will be replaced with what I believe will be St. Mary Magnolias. The city did have a decision with the tree selection.
