Treo – 5th Floor Property for Sale

treo #520There are many high rises around downtown San Diego and the newest listing is at Treo. Unit #520 is located on the east side of the complex allowing morning light into the property and keeping the unit cool in the hot summer afternoons. The large windows and balcony provide a great urban view of the nearby buildings and great as well for people watching along India Street. The patio is a decent size compared to the other patios on the west side of the complex. With 772 square foot of living space, excluding the balcony, this is a popular floor plan because it’s about 100 square foot larger than the smaller units. The property has wood laminate flooring with ceramic tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen and bath both have the 4″ square tiles counter tops where other properties within the complex have upgraded to granite countertops. The backspace in the kitchen also has the 4″ white square tiles.

Treo – Amenities and Location

Treo is a 24 story residential condo high-rise located in the Columbia District in Downtown San Diego. Intergulf completed this development in 2003 and have since housed many residences because of the great location to the bay and other neighborhoods of downtown. Treo offers a security guard that hangs out in the front lobby to secure the building from certain hours. Treo has a pool for residences and I can’t tell you how important that this pool is located on the south/west corner of the complex. Because of this, the pool gets year round sunlight where other complexes like: Aria & La Vita are located behind the tower that doesn’t get any sun. Beside the pool is a hot tub as well. Above the pool refreshment room, there is a fitness center with many different machines and some free weights to get you buff and fit before hitting the fabulous restaurants and nightlife. There are 3 different bbq areas you can enjoy and entertain your guest how great of a chief you really are. Or you can simply cook hot dogs?

Treo is a great choice because you can capture some great views on the higher floors: Bay & City! The hoas are not as high as other nearby luxury complexes. Call me today to take a look at Treo Properties. Michael Long 619.846.0892

Comic Con Opens in Downtown San Diego

comic con

Who’s lucky to have tickets to Comic Con? I hope you all do!! Every year for the past 45 years, Comic Con has been putting on an event for Comic Lovers to come out and have fun with other comic lovers and basically have a fun weekend. Our largest convention, Comic Con, is expected to bring 130,000 people and bring great spending to San Diego. San Diego Tourism Authority says Comic Con in San Diego brings about $166 million in spending and $2.6 million in tax revenue to the city. That’s a lot of comic books!

The Hilton Bayfront has a Batman themed 200 foot zip line that extends to the convention center. Mayor Kevin Faulconer rode the zip line this morning and waved to the crowd. At 3:30 today, DC Comics will host “Batman 75: Legends of the Dark Knight” so be sure to come on out. Can you believe Batman came out 75 years ago? My parents weren’t even alive!

Those that have a 4 day pass were able to gain admission to the floor last night and be the first to see some of the cool sites. There is a Darth Vader themed Hot Wheels car; life size. There’s also a 10 foot Transformer and Lego Spider Man on display. People also stood in line over night to see some Film panels that displayed today in a 6500 seat exhibition.

If you weren’t lucky to get a ticket to Comic Con, you can still come down and have a blast. People watching is the best and many restaurants and bars have specials throughout the weekend. So put on your favorite comic shirt and have fun with the rest of us! Some of the best people watching would be from a couple Downtown San Diego Condos in Gaslamp. Gaslamp City Square & Trellis are two complexes that have a front row to all the action.

Fish Market Coming Soon

When I think about Seattle, I think of the flying fish at Pike Place Fish Market. Well, Downtown San Diego is going to have their own Fish Market on the pier beside Seaport Village in the Marina District. Starting August 2 on every Saturday, fishing boats will tie up and sell their fresh fish at the market. The permit for the fish market is good only for one year but I’m sure if/when it’s a success, the permit would be extended for years out. Fishermen did once try to open a fish market in the past but Department of Agriculture didn’t allowed to them to apply for a permit because they weren’t farmers.

The fishing industry has decreased over the years and once there were around 300 commercial fishermen to now around 130. Greg Cox, San Diego County Supervisor, said San Diego used to be the Tuna capital in the world and he doesn’t see why San Diego can’t bring some of that back. At Scripps Institute of Oceanography, there was a study that shows many people are willing to drive 15-30 minutes to get fresh fish and are willing to pay a little more. Since it will be in downtown San diego, many local residences will just walk over like those at Park Place.

I’m excited to see this new fish market hopefully become as big as Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle.

The Walking Dead Escape

During the Comic Con festivities, you’ll see an outbreak of Zombies walking around the Gaslamp Quarter. Residence’s love Bayside for multiple reasons and one of the major reasons is the loction. Bayside is located at 1325 Pacific Highway in the Columbia District. San Diego is changing this district to basically be the entry way to downtown San Diego from the bay. The new Waterfront Park opened a few months ago. We had the new broadway pier open last year and many other plans are currently in the works to improve this area even more. Bayside is close to Little Italy and not to far from the Gaslamp District. Amenities include a 24 hour security guard at the front entry. Their pool and hot tub are located on the 3rd level on the north side of the complex and the amenity room and wine room/meeting room are also on the same floor. Each property also comes with an additional storage cage that’s located in the storage room.

The views at Bayside are some of the best because it’s so close to the waterfront. Pacific highway is the closest you can get to the bay for a residential building. From the higher floors, which you don’t have to go that high to see, you can see the Star of India, cruise ships and even see as far as Sea World and even watch the fireworks in the summertime.

table no 10 – east village restaurant

table no. 10Table No. 10 opened their doors this week at 369 10th avenue in the East Village district of Downtown San Diego. Table No. 10 was named because of the 10 seat Chef’s table that looks into the kitchen. Both Cooper McLaughlin, (previous owner of The Corner) and Executive Chef Jason Gethin (Previously with Union Kitchen + Tap) partnered together to open another great eatery in Downtown San Diego. The 2 story location will encompass 3500 square foot of space for Dining & Drinking. A rooftop garden will supply the herbs for many dishes and cocktails. The new American contemporary restaurant will be “approachable fine dining” with smaller plates and fewer entree-sized options to select from.

Their Cocktails will be house made sodas & tonics with top tier spirits with Top No. 10’s added flavors. McLaughlin and bar manager Cory Alberto are taking over the cocktail menu and bar. Their menu will change with the seasons throughout the year so continue to come back for more options that weren’t on the menu last time you came in. There are more and more Condos in Downtown San Diego that are wanting and will seek out Table No. 10.

Downtown San Diego Embraces Pride Month

Along 5th avenue in Downtown San Diego, 124 flags are now flying during Gay Pride month. On Wednesday, Kevin Faulconer, major of San Diego, helped raise the 124 flags in the Historic Gaslamp District to mark the 40th anniversary of San Diego Pride. It was in 1974 when San Diego had their first Pride event when they walked from the Center for Social Services to Balboa Park. At that time, the supporters had to march down the sidewalks instead of the streets because they didn’t have a parade permit. Now 40 years later, thousands of people come to San Diego for the Gay Pride Parade which will be held on Saturday July 19th at 11 a.m. in Hillcrest.

Pride Flys over Downtown San Diego

The Gaslamp Quarter Association and San Diego LGBT Pride came together to help put on this special event here in Downtown San Diego. The majors office wanted a “diversity and inclusiveness in the heart of San Diego’s Historic Gaslamp Quarter.” We think this is another step in the right direction.
